Questions regarding orders:

When do shipping costs apply?
When the value of the goods is less than €260.00

What are the shipping costs?
Goods are shipped the most economical way. Parcel post up to 30 kg. In this case, the cost is € 5.90 per parcel. If appropriate and possible, shipments are divided into 2 – 3 parcels.
Pallets are sent through a shipping company. The shipping company’s cost table applies.

Questions regarding products:

What does “DIN” mean?
DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) is the German Institute for Standardisation.

What does “TL” mean?
TL (Technische Lieferbedingungen) are the technical delivery specifications of the German Armed Forces.

What is “HD PE” foil?
“HD” stands for high density.
HD PE foil is recognisable by its almost always “milky” appearance. In addition, HD PE foil is stiffer than LD PE foil.
It is used for heavy duty mechanical requirements because of its good stretching qualities and its resistance to tearing. In addition, the water vapour permeability of HD PE foil is lower than that of LD PE.

What is “LD PE” foil?
“LD” stands for low density.
In contrast to HD PE foil, LD PE foil is softer. It is therefore easier to process and, in general, more commonly used in industry.

What is “regenerated” foil?
Regenerated foil is made of recycled granulated PE material. The foil usually has coloured inclusions. For instance, it changes depending on whether red or green pellets are used. This does not affect its technical properties. The foil is used mainly as a cover or for dust protection.

What is “hot embossed printing”?
The pressure is applied to the bag mechanically by means of a heated pressure plate using a coloured ribbon. That is why the bags can only be imprinted with a single colour. Maximum image size: 6 x 8 cm.

What is “thermal transfer printing”?
The printed image is created “without pressure” through intermittent heat generation instead of mechanical strokes or contact pressure. That is why the bags can only be imprinted with a single colour. Maximum image size: 10 x 15 cm.

What is “starry sky”?
A so-called starry sky is created when the aluminium compound foil is folded. The aluminium compound foil breaks at intervals, and the breaks become visible when light shines through. This has no effect on the barrier layer.

Questions regarding EGB/ESD products:

What does “EGB” mean?
EGB (Elektrostatisch Gefährdete Bauteile) indicates electrostatic sensitive devices.

What does “ESD” mean?
ESD stands for ElectroStatic Discharge.

Electrostatic discharges can damage microelectronic components. Comparison: A static discharge on a semiconductor can cause the same damage as a lightning strike in a tree.

What kinds of protective packaging are there against ESD?
Low-charging (former frequently used term: pink antistatic):
Low-charging products have a surface resistance of 10^10 to 10^11 Ohm. The product gets its low charging property and the typical pink colour from the addition of an antistatic master batch.
Low charging materials are only slightly charged by friction or surface separation from other materials and are therefore suitable for dust protection.

(Volume) conductive?
Black conductive products get their property through the addition of carbon (soot). The surface resistance is 10^4 to 10^5 Ohm. Therefore, this conductive foil is only recommended for assemblies with low sensitivity, as voltage peaks can puncture the foil.

“Topshield” metallised shielding bags?
Metallised shielding bags shield against electrostatic discharges and are particularly suitable for storing and shipping highly sensitive electronic components / circuit boards. They form a barrier that prevents the passage of electric current (voltage peak puncture). Surface resistance: 10^10 to 10^11 Ohm.

What is the difference between shielding and EMI shielding?
Shielding foil is aluminised and therefore slightly transparent.
EMI shielding is opaque and moisture-proof. It provides excellent protection against moisture and electrostatic charging. The humidity is absorbed by using dessicant bags and humidity indicator cards. EMI shielding foil can be vacuum sealed.

How long can shielding and EMI-shielding bags be stored?

In the original packaging and under “normal” storage conditions the bags can be stored up to one year without losing any of their protective properties.
